(1) Certificate of Resident Status (CoR)
      The Hong Kong government relaxed the requirements for applying the Certification of Resident Status (CoR) in June 2023. However, the beneficial ownership requirements specified under State Taxation Administration Circular 2018 No.9 remains valid. Can a taxpayer enjoy the Double Taxation Agreement benefits with the CoR now

(2) Foreign-sourced income exemption (FSIE)
       The Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department recently published first two advance ruling cases on the application of the foreign-sourced income exemption (FSIE). We are going to share practical experiences in handling FSIE regime.

On the other hand, we will cover the future development of FSIE Regime. More income will be under FSIE coverage.

Henry is a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA). After obtaining a Bachelor Degree of Science in Quantitative Finance from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Henry has worked in the tax department of a Big 4 CPA firm and then as a tax partner in a reputable CPA firm, serving as the principal auditor for around 20 listed corporations in Hong Kong and the tax advisor for over 80. He is specialized in providing Hong Kong, Mainland China and international tax advisory services, as well as transfer pricing services to international clients.
